Aqualyx (sodium deoxycholate) and similar products like Lemonbottle, Kabelline, and various local formulations are fat-dissolving injectables used on body areas where the FDA-approved Kybella is not indicated. The mechanism is similar — bile-salt-derived compounds destroy fat-cell membranes, leading to gradual elimination through the lymphatic system — but body applications are off-label and use larger volumes per session.

Common treatment areas include flanks ("love handles"), inner thighs, knees, banana rolls (under buttocks), back rolls, upper arms, and bra fat. Each session uses 5-10 vials typically distributed across multiple injection points. Most patients require 2-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Significant swelling and bruising are expected for 5-7 days post-injection. Results appear gradually over 6-8 weeks. Patient selection is critical — these treatments are NOT for weight loss or large-volume reduction; they're for stubborn small fat pockets in patients otherwise close to their target weight.
