Intense pulsed light treatment that targets sun damage, age spots, broken capillaries, redness, and rosacea. Multi-wavelength alternative to laser for pigmentation and vascular concerns.
What to expect
Typical milestones for an aesthetic-procedure patient. Your surgeon will personalise the plan during your consultation.
Before surgery
Consultation
Surgeon reviews your photos + the simulator preview, sets realistic expectations, and books the procedure date.
Day 0
Procedure
In-clinic procedure under local or general anaesthetic. Most patients go home the same day.
Days 1–7
Early recovery
Swelling and bruising peak around day 3 then start to subside. Most patients work from home this week.
Weeks 2–6
Settling in
Visible swelling resolves; you can return to social commitments + light exercise. Final shape still emerging.
Months 6–12
Final result
Tissues fully settle and the simulated outcome becomes your real face. Follow-up review with your surgeon.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses broadband light energy across multiple wavelengths to target chromophores in the skin — melanin (causing pigmentation) and hemoglobin (causing visible blood vessels). Unlike single-wavelength lasers, IPL treats multiple skin concerns simultaneously: sun damage, freckles, age spots, broken capillaries, rosacea, and overall complexion irregularity.
Treatment requires 3-5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for cumulative results. Each session is 20-30 minutes, with the sensation often described as "rubber band snaps" against the skin. Pigmented spots typically darken before sloughing off over 7-14 days post-treatment. Best results are in patients with Fitzpatrick I-III skin types; darker skin requires careful provider selection or alternative treatments to avoid hypopigmentation.
Patients with sun damage, freckles, age spots, redness, rosacea, or broken capillaries — particularly those with lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick I-III).
Recovery Time
No downtime; pigmented spots darken/slough for 7-14 days
Procedure Duration
20-30 minutes per session; typically 3-5 sessions
Typical Cost Range
$300 – $700
