Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) injectable that combines two mechanisms: immediate volumization from the calcium microspheres suspended in a gel carrier, and long-term collagen stimulation as the spheres are gradually resorbed. The dual action makes it longer-lasting (12-18 months) than most HA fillers (6-12 months) and gives it characteristic "skin booster" effects beyond simple volume.
Common applications include deep nasolabial folds, jawline contouring, hand rejuvenation (where age-related volume loss makes veins prominent), and chest decollete. It is generally NOT suitable for lip enhancement (visible white lumps can occur) or fine line treatment. The product can be diluted ("hyperdilute Radiesse") for skin-quality treatment that resembles Sculptra but with faster onset.
Patients with deep nasolabial folds, jawline contouring needs, hand volume loss, or wanting longer-lasting filler than HA — but NOT for lip treatment.
