Overview

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is medical-grade micro-tattooing of the scalp. Tiny needles deposit pigment dots at 0.5mm depth into the epidermis to mimic the appearance of hair follicles cut close to the scalp. It creates the illusion of a full buzz-cut or adds density to thinning areas.

SMP uses organic pigments (not tattoo ink) that maintain color stability. It lasts 5–10 years with periodic touch-ups. Treatment requires 2–4 sessions of 2–3 hours each, with progressive density buildup: session 1 delivers ~30% density, session 2 reaches ~70%, and sessions 3–4 achieve full coverage.
