Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique that deposits pigment into the upper dermis using a hand-held tool with very fine blades. The artist creates individual hair-like strokes mimicking natural eyebrow hairs, producing a result much more natural than traditional powder-fill cosmetic tattoo. Most clients are women with sparse, over-plucked, thin, or chemotherapy-affected eyebrows.
Treatment is performed in two sessions: an initial 2-3 hour session, followed by a touch-up at 6-8 weeks to perfect the design and replace pigment that didn't fully take during initial healing. Annual or biannual color refreshes maintain the look since the pigment fades over 18-24 months. Unlike permanent tattoo, microblading uses pigments specifically designed to fade — preventing the unnatural blue/green appearance of older eyebrow tattoos as they age. Best results are in patients with normal-to-dry skin; oily skin causes faster fading and less crisp lines.
