Facial fat grafting (autologous fat transfer) harvests fat from one area of the body (typically abdomen or thighs), purifies it, and reinjects it into the face to restore volume lost through aging. Unlike synthetic fillers, the transferred fat integrates with existing tissue for natural, long-lasting results.
The procedure involves three steps: liposuction harvest from a donor site, centrifugation or filtration to purify viable fat cells, and precise micro-injection into target facial areas. Approximately 60-80% of transferred fat survives long-term, making touch-up sessions common.
