PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) facial — popularized as the "Vampire Facial" — combines microneedling with the patient's own concentrated platelets and growth factors. Blood is drawn, centrifuged to concentrate platelets, then applied topically to the freshly micro-channeled skin where the growth factors penetrate deeply and signal increased collagen production, accelerated healing, and improved cellular turnover.
The treatment addresses similar concerns to standalone microneedling — fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, dull texture — but with enhanced results from the growth-factor delivery. Most patients require 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with continued improvement for 3-6 months after the final session. PRP is autologous (uses the patient's own biological material), so there's no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. The "vampire" nickname comes from the dramatic appearance of blood on the face during treatment, but the actual procedure is well-tolerated and recovery is similar to standard microneedling (1-3 days redness).
