Patient's own concentrated platelets injected into the scalp to stimulate dormant hair follicles. Non-surgical treatment for early-stage androgenetic alopecia and thinning.
What to expect
Typical milestones for an aesthetic-procedure patient. Your surgeon will personalise the plan during your consultation.
Before surgery
Consultation
Surgeon reviews your photos + the simulator preview, sets realistic expectations, and books the procedure date.
Day 0
Procedure
In-clinic procedure under local or general anaesthetic. Most patients go home the same day.
Days 1–7
Early recovery
Swelling and bruising peak around day 3 then start to subside. Most patients work from home this week.
Weeks 2–6
Settling in
Visible swelling resolves; you can return to social commitments + light exercise. Final shape still emerging.
Months 6–12
Final result
Tissues fully settle and the simulated outcome becomes your real face. Follow-up review with your surgeon.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for hair loss involves drawing the patient's blood, centrifuging it to concentrate platelets and growth factors, then injecting the resulting plasma into thinning areas of the scalp. The growth factors (PDGF, VEGF, EGF, and others) signal dormant hair follicles to re-enter the active growth phase, increase blood supply, and prolong the active hair cycle.
Treatment requires 3-4 initial sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by quarterly maintenance. Best results are in patients with early androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss) where follicles are miniaturized but not yet permanently lost. PRP works synergistically with finasteride (men) or spironolactone (women) and topical minoxidil — combination therapy outperforms PRP alone. Once hair follicles are completely lost (advanced Norwood VI-VII or Ludwig III), PRP cannot reverse the loss; hair transplant is the only option.
Patients with early-stage androgenetic alopecia (thinning but not bald), post-pregnancy hair loss, or those wanting to maintain density alongside topical treatments.
Recovery Time
Mild scalp tenderness for 1-2 days
Procedure Duration
30-45 minutes per session; 3-4 sessions initial + maintenance
Typical Cost Range
$400 – $1,200
