Overview

Beard transplant uses FUE to harvest follicles from the scalp and implant them into the facial hair zone. Typical graft counts range from 1,000–3,000 for a full beard, 500–1,000 for a goatee or mustache, and 200–500 for patchy fill. Each graft is placed at a 30–45° angle following natural beard growth patterns.

Growth patterns vary by zone: cheek hair grows downward, chin hair grows slightly forward, mustache hair fans downward from center, and sideburns grow straight down. Natural beard density is 25–40 FU/cm². Transplanted hairs initially shed at 2–4 weeks (“shock loss”) before regrowing at 3–4 months with full results at 12–18 months.
