What to expect
Typical milestones for an aesthetic-procedure patient. Your surgeon will personalise the plan during your consultation.
Before surgery
Consultation
Surgeon reviews your photos + the simulator preview, sets realistic expectations, and books the procedure date.
Day 0
Procedure
In-clinic procedure under local or general anaesthetic. Most patients go home the same day.
Days 1–7
Early recovery
Swelling and bruising peak around day 3 then start to subside. Most patients work from home this week.
Weeks 2–6
Settling in
Visible swelling resolves; you can return to social commitments + light exercise. Final shape still emerging.
Months 6–12
Final result
Tissues fully settle and the simulated outcome becomes your real face. Follow-up review with your surgeon.

IV therapy (intravenous vitamin and nutrient infusion) delivers fluids, electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal system. Most sessions run 20–60 minutes in a supervised clinical setting; a trained nurse or doctor inserts a peripheral IV line, and the selected formulation drips in at a controlled rate. There is no downtime.
**Common drip types — what they contain and what the evidence says:**
Plain hydration and electrolyte drips contain normal saline or Lactated Ringer's solution with sodium, potassium, and chloride. This is the most clinically grounded IV offering: rapid rehydration is effective and well-established for dehydration from illness, exercise, or alcohol, and is the only IV-therapy claim with consistent clinical support for otherwise healthy adults.
Myers' cocktail — first described by physician John Myers in the 1970s — combines magnesium, calcium, B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6), and vitamin C. It is one of the most commonly administered "wellness" infusions. Small observational studies suggest some benefit for fatigue and fibromyalgia; controlled trial evidence is limited, and most clinics administer modified proprietary versions rather than the original formula. Reasonable rationale exists for correcting demonstrated B-vitamin or magnesium deficiency, but claims beyond that are not strongly supported.
High-dose vitamin C drips deliver ascorbic acid at concentrations far above what the gut can absorb orally (often 10–50 g per session). Research on high-dose IV vitamin C is active and genuine, particularly in oncology-support contexts — but evidence for routine "immune boost" or "skin glow" in healthy adults is weak and mixed. High-dose vitamin C is metabolised to oxalate; patients with renal impairment or G6PD deficiency should not receive it without specialist guidance.
B-complex and B12 "energy" drips replace vitamins that are genuinely lost through poor diet, alcohol use, malabsorption, or vegan diets. If you are B12-deficient, IV or IM replacement is clinically effective and fast. If you are not deficient, the excess is excreted in urine with negligible lasting effect on energy.
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) drips are among the most expensive offerings, priced on preclinical research linking NAD+ to cellular energy metabolism, DNA repair, and anti-aging pathways. Human clinical trial evidence for NAD+ IV infusion in healthy adults remains early-stage and inconclusive. Common side effects during infusion include flushing, chest tightness, and nausea; these usually resolve by slowing the infusion rate.
Glutathione and antioxidant blends add glutathione (a naturally produced antioxidant) or vitamin C/E mixes, sometimes alongside brightening or "glow" claims. Glutathione is unstable in the bloodstream and is rapidly metabolised; the clinical literature on IV glutathione for skin lightening or systemic antioxidant loading is sparse and largely anecdotal. See our dedicated glutathione injection page for more detail.
**Shared safety considerations:** all IV therapy carries a small but real risk of IV-site infection, bruising, or phlebitis with repeated access of the same vein. Rapid fluid infusion can precipitate fluid overload in patients with cardiac or renal insufficiency — this is a genuine medical risk, not a theoretical one. Compounding quality varies widely between clinics; pharmaceutical-grade, sterile-prepared formulations from a licensed pharmacy are essential. IV therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment of any condition.
